List of Companies that Provide the Best Home Security and Alarm Systems

Home security systems help keep you, your family, and your home (or place of business) safe from criminals and intruders. Their main purpose is to prevent or deter access, but they can also notify police or security and capture photos and video footage of criminal activity.

What is included?

Security monitoring companies offer basic alarm systems for free in exchange for a monthly monitoring fee and an annual contract. Professional installers or security companies usually install alarm systems and security equipment. Examples of home security systems include simple door and window alarms, surveillance cameras, and infrared motion detectors.

Physical structures, such as gates and electronic fences that prevent access to a property or certain areas, are part of an overall home security system. Additional equipment may include special door and window locks, floor safes, hidden safes, safe rooms, and even security guards.

What does a typical system cost?

Home security systems range from basic to advanced, with equipment costs of $100 to tens of thousands. Monitoring services for most homes cost between $25 and $50. However, the monthly monitoring fee may be more, depending on the services included in your contract.

Following is a list of the most popular home security companies that provide home security systems, alarm security products, monitoring systems, and other resources.

What do Private Investigators need to know?

Private investigators may need to understand home security systems for several reasons. First, private eyes often investigate a burglary or break-in at a home or business. In such a case, a P.I. needs to identify where there was a system failure or a burglar circumvented the system.

Second, private detectives often provide security and bodyguarding services for their clients. In this situation, thoroughly knowing the best equipment to help your clients protect their dwellings or office buildings is helpful.

Third, a private detective may, though under rare circumstances, have to circumvent a system to gain entry into a building personally. This may happen during a surveillance mission. Or, it may become necessary during a case that involves covert information gathering.

Whatever the case, educating yourself on how the equipment works is wise. Also, knowing how to install systems, how much the electronics cost, and how to disable the system is good. This will help further position you as an expert in security.

  1. Home security systems are very helpful in security of your home or family from threats. I live in an area where there are a lot of security issues. In this case security systems would be very useful. Your article also helpful for me. Thanks

  2. I like the idea of a basic monitoring service or security for about 20$-$50. My wife and I live in a really secure neighborhood so we don’t need anything really over the top, but we do want something small just in case. I think a small monitoring service would be worth the sense of security.
