Overview of the CSI Miami TV Series
The CSI Miami TV Series (also known as Crime Scene Investigation: Miami) is an American police procedural television show, which premiered on September 23, 2002, on the CBS network. The CSI Miami TV series is a spin-off of the popular CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
Plot
The plot of the CSI: Miami television series follows a South Florida forensics team headed by detective Horatio Caine, played by actor David Caruso. The show is set against heated ethnic and cultural tensions in South Florida. Caine’s forensic team is responsible for investigating cases similar to those of their Las Vegas counterparts. The show’s characters use forensic science, powerful deduction, and the latest technology and tools to solve murders.

- David Caruso – David Caruso’s character, Horatio Caine, is the head of the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Crime Scene Investigation unit. - We give the show a rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars based on its strong cast, quality scripting, and exciting plot lines. We were sad that the show was canceled after ten seasons. It could have easily gone on for five more and would still be interesting.
Trivia
- The majority of the series wasn’t even filmed in Miami. Most of it was filmed in California. Also, indoor scenes were filmed in a studio in Manhattan Beach. Many beach scenes were shot in Long Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach.
