Many different names have been used for the Net Detective program in the past, which may lead you to outdated or incorrect information on the internet.  Older versions of Net Detectives were software downloads that users installed on their personal computer.  In the current version, no software installation is necessary and everything is accessible via a web browser.  The real version of the current software does not use a version number or a year, the name of the product is simply "Net Detective".
